Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 04/26/2018

Number: 1

Female Black-chinned at feeder 11am this morning. She is much larger than her 2 young seen earlier in the week. She sat about 15 seconds & then hovered over feeder sipping & pumping her tail as she fed. Still no signs of young siblings. Hope they made it thru the rain Storms & weather down to low of 48 degrees last several days. 55 degrees yesterday at 6pm & overcast but the sun is out today with 71.4 degrees at 12:45pm. Songbirds fighting over suet & Downey young have found suet for 1st time. Texas is ahead about a month in Bird Mating, laying eggs & young seen compared to when we lived in North Carolina. Also hummers seem to nest really fast. Songbirds have already paired up by month of Feb. each yr. Do hope I see young hummers today.
