Last week as we (Altus!) played in the backyard
we saw about an even number of new monarchs and
remigrants. One female late in the week was
especially faded and tattered with a long split
in the right front wing, but she stayed around
for a couple of hours. The hummers are beginning
to get our attention more and more of the time ...
must be May.
Hot, dry! 94 dF, clear, low humidity, light wind
out of the NNE. All flowers showed heat stress
at 3:00.
