This is a follow-up photo to my 5/03/2018 report (Monarch Adult Sighted). This is the faded-winged male that was flying around in the same area as the newborn monarch today. He preferred nectaring from the prairie plantains, which didn't seem to interest the young one. I am always glad to get to see these monarch elders, who have traveled so far and have a special quality of grace about them.
