"May 2 was the official ice-out date on Lower Prior Lake, a new record according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, which has been documenting the final day of ice cover on Prior Lake since 1963.

That’s about a month later than Prior Lake’s median ice-out date of April 5, and beat out it’s previous record of April 28 set in 2013. The earliest ice-out date came in 2012, when waters were free flowing by March 17."
