I saw one monarch butterfly flying over a field where milkweed grows. Then I saw a second one. Their eyes locked, music started playing, the pheromones flooded the air, and they came together in a vivid orange dance! In all seriousness, and despite my highly unscientific-seeming observation, I felt quite confident that I was witnessing some pre-mating activity.
