This is our first caterpillar sighting of the spring season.

I noticed the caterpillar on a swamp milkweed leaf (Asclepias incarnata) this afternoon just after 4:00. It appears to be a mid to late 2nd instar. I quickly grabbed my phone and snapped a picture.

At the time of the sighting, the temperature was 88 degrees with bright sunshine. The wind was 17 mph from the SSE.
