Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/11/2018

Number: 1

At 1845 hrs a male visited my feeder......HAPPY!!! I have 5 feeders out. I was in my kitchen getting supper ready, looking out the window, and he appeared so quickly. He went to one feeder for a few seconds and flew off, I thought he was a traveler still heading north, but 20 minutes later he came back! Went straight to the same feeder, stayed longer there, went to another feeder, then went to the hanging fuschia, perched on a rose cane for over a minute, and then went back to the first feeder. I think he's home. Frost warning tonight, I'll have to take in the hanging baskets once the sun goes down and I'll get up early to make fresh warm nectar for him. Got to go stare at my feeders
some more, never mind supper........we Hummingbirders are a strange lot.
