Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/16/2018

Number: 1

My step-daughter was visiting the prairie area of Heckrodt Wetland Reserve. As she was meandering along, a monarch settled on an early flower to nectar. She was able to get close enough to definitively identify as a female. The coloring was rather vivid so probably from Texas or Oklahoma, would be my guess.
