Piedmont Parks & Rec recruited volunteers from the community and built a Monarch Waystation & Pollinator Sanctuary at Piedmont Community Park on May 12, 2018.

This garden contains four species of milkweed: A. tuberosa, A. incarnata, A. viridis, and A. asperula. Several other pollinator-friendly natives and perennials are also included.

The site is now a certified Waystation with Monarch Watch and a certified wildlife habitat with NWF.
