Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 05/23/2018

Number: 8

Asclepias viridis is popping up in fields all over the area. We seem to be having the perfect conditions for this milkweed to make appearances in areas where it may not have been noticed before. Either that, or there are more people sharing sightings. The photo of this particular field near Haskell, OK, was shared on FB by our local Outdoors Editor for the Tulsa World, Kelly Bostian. Kelly writes many feature articles about butterflies and Monarchs in particular. Kelly saw 8 Monarchs flying in the vicinity of this field.
