Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Number: 22

Early today as I walked around our butterfly garden I observed more cats than I could believe. I collected 22 and placed them on a potted plant near a wall of our house where a loquat tree grows against the wall. I am hopeful that they are in a better environment to become butterflies. I am not holding them as captives but I am trying to keep watch on them. Most were large and should move on to the next stage very soon. The milkweed plant that I placed them on is large and healthy and now I am wondering why later I discovered that one was crawling across a driveway headed back to the butterfly garden. I placed it back on the potted plant. Wonder if I am helping or harming them.
