I was relaxing on my swing and thought I saw a monarch so I jumped up and chased it down our hill and got close enough to see that it was, it continued going down the hill. I stopped because I knew I had to climb back back up the hill.lol I don't know if it was male or female, couldn't get close enough. Rain began so I will try to look for eggs tomorrow. This is at least a month earlier than usual for me to see any.
