Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/02/2018

Number: 1

This has been a very unusual season . I usually have monarchs all year. However, this spring, I had lots of eggs, the larva all grew well and I had enough milkweed when they all pupated. I kept an eye on at least 8 or 9 pupae and all eclosed normally but a couple. The strange part is that even though I still had some milkweed and nectar sources, the butterflies disappeared. I think they migrated north. This is not a normal pattern for my area. I have not seen any adults or even eggs for the past 2-3 months.
