It was a glorious day! A female monarch descended upon my first year waystation, nectaring, and laying at least 4 eggs! She nectared on tropical and ice ballet milkweed. I found eggs on my pink swamp milkweed and tropical. She checked out all 7 of the milkweed plants I planted this year! I saw her lay eggs on my tropical.
She stayed for about 30 minutes, meandering throughout my garden area checking out all my flowers that I planted, for her! She seemed to be dancing with joy and delight from the variety of flowers that she found, I felt so privileged and honored, a day I will never forget! A hummingbird even stopped by and nectared at the ice ballet milkweed with her, it was very magical. I brought the two eggs from the tropical m ilkweed inside for safekeeping and to raise!
