I spotted a Robins nest w Mom from my bedroom window on the step of my fire escape. It had 1 egg and mom was sitting on it. About a week later mom was gone and egg was still there. A week or so after that I noticed mom sitting on that same nest and has been vigilant since then. I read that it’s possible that the 1 egg may not have been viable and they don’t sit on the eggs until their clutch is full. I have no idea how many eggs are now in the nest. Would that first egg still be viable if it was fertile .. I didn’t find any eggs on the ground beneath the nest. ?? And from reading it’s unlikely that this is a different Robin. Thanks!
