I was waiting at a stoplight at a busy urban intersection about 8:40 am when I saw a monarch fluttering south down Cedar Ave, about 12 feet above traffic. It headed for a patch of greenery and blooming flowers on the SW side of the intersection and made it there (much to my relief) before the light turned green and I drove off. Wasn't close enough to see if it was a female or male but I hope it found nectar and/or milkweed there!
