3:30pm-Washing dishes at Kitchen sink looking down. Hadn't noticed that the adult, male BC had slipped in & was sitting/feeding on the 4-port Highview Aspects saucer feeder until I looked up while reaching 2 turn H2O off. He saw my movement & promptly flew away. I also keep lights off in kitchen so they won't get "spooked". I have Amistad (Friendship Sage) growing in a large container on a table right under the feeder. My BC's prefer Amistad over 'Love & Wishes" so I only ordered the Amistad this Spring. Amistad grows better for me in containers. Very large & spreading. The only year Amistad grew well (in the ground) was in 2016 when we had an usually very warm Oct.& Nov. Kept growing & blooming until 1st wk.? of Dec. when a hard freeze got it. Was a favorite of Broad-billed hummer that yr. Last yr. it stayed small in the ground. I don't know how I am going to get a picture of our "shy" BC's this yr. Will keep trying.
