I saw 3 in Prince Edward County last week on an Ontario Nature field trip, but this is the first I've seen in this area this year. I had to look at a LOT of milkweed to find it -- last year at this time I found half a dozen within minutes. There is a black bug on a lot of milkweed that I have not seen before. I don't know if it is discouraging monarchs from laying on those plants.
