Saw 2 Monarchs today in my home garden. First sighting was roughly 12:30 pm, as the butterfly flitted between Downy skullcap and butterfly weed plants. Was unable to ID sex. 2nd sighting was roughly 8:05 pm. A young female landed on unopened blossoms of a swamp milkweed plant, eight feet from the same Downy skullcap and butterfly weed plants. Have lived at this address 2 years exactly and this is my earliest sighting of a Monarch.
