monarch landed on asclepias syriaca plants (in bud ) in my yard. It would land on the plant then fly off and come back within a few minutes. It was around that milkweed for about 15 minutes. It never landed on asclepias speciosa plants that were six feet away. The A.speciosa plant is native to Oregon.A.syriaca plant came from seeds collected in Massachusetts.
