I brought a captive-reared monarch chrysalis with me to meet friends for coffee. The chrysalis was ready to eclose but the larva had pupated onto the side of the container instead of on the lid thus leaving him hanging sideways. Propping the container solved that problem but being a worrier I brought him along. So exactly at 9:00 a.m., he elcosed. The owner and patrons could not believe the transformation and he made it.
