There is a circle (~10’ in diameter) of common milkweed, currently in bloom (see photo), near the small parking area on state land along Fox Hill Road just west and north of the intersection with Pleasant Hill Road that I’ve been visiting occasionally looking for evidence of Monarch butterflies. The clump (at lat. 40.83495°, long. -77.88088°) is about 150’ from the road. Today I spotted my first Monarch butterfly there at about 1:00 PM. It circled the area several times, never landed, and eventually left heading southwest. I never was fast nor close enough to determine gender or snap a photo, but my guess would be it was a male looking to mate.
A cursory observation revealed no eggs or cats on the milkweed leaves.
