I checked the large field behind the Arcade Post Office. The milkweed is numerous. The air was filled with the sweet perfume of their lovely blossoms - at peak!

It was 80 degrees F with a breeze. The three monarchs I saw were on the move - never stopping it seemed, but flying here and there over the field. Their energy was fueled by the warm day and, perhaps, the sweet nectar from the milkweed flowers.

I'll check back here in a couple of weeks to look for larvae.
