Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 06/28/2018

Number: 1

I found a tiny Monarch caterpillar on the underside of a leaf on the honeyvine milkweed (Cynanchum laeve) that I have growing on the railing outside the front door. I cut the leaf off and put it and a few others in a large mason jar with mesh over the top. Caterpillar was in 1st instar when I found it.

It is now in its 3rd instar, eating well and growing every day.
