Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)

Single female seen fluttering along dike at Great Meadows NWR visiting the numerous Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) and ovipositing on leaves. Observed one egg with 10x hand lens, but there were likely many more. 0945 EST. Swamp Milkweed (A. incarnata) also blooming at this location.
