Either a female ruby throat or female black chin is still here. It sits on twig of desert willow tree 7-8 a.m. again today after a week from first sighting July 1st. It then nectared on Hamelia pattens blosdoms below that finally opened, then over to Aimstad sage that has been blooming all along.
There is purple Gurantica, salvia lipstick ,Thurmans cap, red rock rose penstemons, turks cap, Embers wish all blooming,
That it seens not to want. Coral Honeysuckle is struggling to bloom in our heat and over abundance of storms for 2 weeks now, and is barely opening up for nectaring.
I am trying to figure what is going on up east or west to cause early migration back.
