This morning two of us visited a large patch of common milkweed (almost 1 acre in size). A dirt road bisects the field and we each took one side of the road to observe any adult Monarchs. Multiple count comparisons convinced us that at least 8 adults were present as we saw that many in flight at one time. Minutes later, and a few miles down the road in another large field of common milkweed, we observed 2 more adults flying about.
