The monarch show goes on. It was stormy overnight and this morning but as soon as the rain ended the Monarchs emerged and have been feeding all day on cone flower, black eyed Susan, Monarda and even the tiny flowers of catch fly. No matter when I look in the garden there are Monarchs buzzing around. This is the largest number of monarchs I've observed in the last few years. I believe the increase in the volume of milkweed around the yard is in part responsible for the increased monarch traffic and certainly the increase in eggs laid.
