I have done captive releases but the monarchs didn't stick around. Today I saw an egg laying female with slightly worn wings hovering around the small common milkweed stems. She seemed to ignore the tropical milkweeds. She stayed through the morning. I found 5 larvae and 4 eggs so she was here possibly before.
