1st sighting of the season. This is my earliest first sighting date since 2006!
1 female older darker color but faded otherwise in perfect condition. Saw her arrive and land on Butterfly Weed ( asclepias tuberosa ) at 4.30 pm. which also has boomed earlier this year. She stayed about 30 minutes and then left the property. I did not see her ovipositing on any off my Milkweed species, especially Common Milkweed of which I have a good size patch that they use almost exclusively adjacent to my Butterfly / Pollinator Garden.
More reports to follow... they are back!!!
