I have Joe Pye Weed in my yard and have been seeing numerous Monarchs A local gal and son collected 13 eggs, fed and kept them, watched them hatch into chrysalis then into butterflies,and released them in her garden after their wings dried for 3 hours.I called both my village and Douglas County maintainance who have agreed not to mow the roadsides until late August.That's where the pye weed grows in abundance.
