Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/20/2018

Number: 2

Monarch butterflies mating. We suspect that the female is one that we released two days ago, because she's unusually small. (A neighbor had given us the caterpillar.) there were several other monarchs flying around in the garden at the same time. There are so many eggs on our milkweed that we have a hard time finding plants without eggs to feed to our captive-raised caterpillars. I have been so overwhelmed with monarchs that I've been reporting only exceptional sightings.
