This report also reflects what we are seeing in southern Ontario. Rick Cavasin is a very dedicated and outstanding Ontario lepidopterist:
"Hi All,
Just thought I'd let folks know that Monarch numbers seem quite good here in the Ottawa area. I think I've been seeing more Monarchs around than I've seen in years, and it isn't even migration season yet. Seeing a dozen during an outing is not unusual.
Good numbers have been seen at numerous sites around Ottawa, Luskville, Gatineau Park, Kazabazua, and even as far North as Amos in Quebec ( this was while driving back from James Bay ).
Cheers, Rick"
AMOS, Quebec - 48.57, -78.15 . Monarchs also reported to be common in Algonquin Park, Ontario.
