My husband and I spotted the first Monarch butterfly that we have seen in our backyard this whole spring and summer. It flew to an area where we had planted milkweed a few years ago, and fluttered about and landed upon the milkweed many times. We have sadly been missing seeing any other Monarchs this whole season. We are in hopes that this Monarch was able to lay some eggs on the milkweed.
