I was kayaking around the shoreline of Lake Francis when I spotted a monarch I swamp milkweed growing among the east shore of the lake. I didn't have my camera and wasn't close enough to verify the gender. When I got around to the west side of the lake, there was an adult monarch winging its way ACROSS the lake. It's two miles across. I guess it was training for the trio to Mexico.
