Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 07/27/2018

Number: 1

Excessive shade alongside my woodland garden has reduced my swamp milkweed to single stem plants. BUT I saw holes and found a first instar on it. My monarch-ist friends wonder how in the world do monarchs find these embarrassing examples of swamp milkweed among mostly green flowerless plants? We decided we don't know but it's amazing.
