Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/27/2018

Number: 9

Yay! Monarch numbers are growing in Kansas. I was out birding with a friend at Heritage Park in east central Kansas, and we saw 9 Monarchs in about 2 hours. They were nectaring on beautiful Ironweed in the park. These are the most Monarchs I have seen this year in the Midwest. There is plenty of milkweed at the park, so I'm hoping the Monarchs nectar and then go find a mate and some milkweed.
