A Monarch butterfly briefly came fluttering by our front yard today (~1:25 PM), hovered above several varieties of flowers in our gardens, but never landed. After a minute or two it flew off to the west. It never was still or close enough to determine its gender.
At the time of this observation the air was calm, it was partly sunny, and conditions were approximately:
