My first sighting for 2018. A lone Ruby-throated female surprised me at around 7:30pm. For some reason these little wonders only visit me heading south so it's always bittersweet when I see them because it means the season is coming to a close. Having said that this seems earlier than last year so maybe there's still a bit left to the season.
The picture isn't the best. It was already getting dark in my yard.
