Monarch Waystation #271 reports a male monarch first seen nectaring in the front yard just before 10 am and then regularly throughout the day when the sun could peek out through intermittent showers. The male would alternate the "cruise" and nectar behavior, straying out of sight for a time and then returning. The month of July has been very wet, 10-12 inches of rain have fallen here that month when the normal for the year is 40 inches total. Some of my milkweeds are senescing early in reaction. Hoping for a little break in August.
