Adults observed in this field, which is part of a landscape-scale monarch/pollinator conservation area on Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. Consistently high population of breeding and nectaring adult monarchs in field, on edges of forests, and along adjacent wetlands (also in the conservation area) Prolific Asclepias syriaca and A. incarnata) populate marsh edges and in field. Mowed dikes provide regenerated milkweed for late summer breeding resource.
