Conservative number. This was a large field with lots of alfalfa where they were nectaring. I visually divided the space into quarters to estimate numbers. Observed one mating pair.
This is an area with lots of Common Milkweed as well. I often go there to get food for my caterpillars. The Milkweed I brought home had 6 eggs and one 1st I instar caterpillar.
