Just read Linda's posting under Captive Reared about earlier than usual eclosing of monarchs and walked upstairs to find one of mine eclosing at 7:30 a.m.(earliest). I still wonder if there are internal cues for migration independent of the obvious ones (shorter days, cooler temps, shortage of food, etc.) going on with those captive-reared. Why are they so restless in the fall? This is bugging me (excuse the pun).
