saw about 6 total today. two flying together. One looked like a monarch when it's wings were closed but when open it resembled a monarch but had too many white dots clustered at the widest part of its wing spread. the rest of it's wings looked like a monarch. I don't think it was a painted lady.
at least 4 cabbage whites have lived in my yard since early June. there flutter around all day and esp like catnip
