Sightings report image

Date: 08/07/2018

Number: 29

These eggs were found on Common Milkweed. My husband picked a stalk to feed our larvae then discovered the eggs underneath.
On August 10th, they all hatched. See photo on the larvae map.

Editor's note: Editor's Note: The best clue that these are milkweed tussock moths is the large number larvae together on the leaf. Monarchs lay their eggs singly so it's rare to see more than one at a time. The milkweed tussock moth lays a group of eggs and all hatch together.

You can read more about the tussock moth here.
