These were the last 2 seen of the first generation which grew on our milkweed this year.
The first 6 emerged and flew away on July 30-31, the second 2 were seen on August 3, and these on August 6 (one other was seen Aug. 1, injured; it didn't survive.) But that makes a total of 10 adult butterflies which have survived, of the first generation here in our yard, this summer ... and this year there may be a second generation, which would be the first I know of this far North!
