This male Monarch continues to patrol the Swamp Milkweed in our yard. He is not letting any other Monarchs near the milkweed. He flies around the milkweed, landing to stretch his wings dorsally. He then flies to a nearby Norway Spruce tree to watch the milkweed from a distance. He is always in the dorsal position, stretched maximally so his scent glands are prominently in view.
