I counted approximately 157 monarchs roosting in a maple tree in our yard last night. What I found interesting, is that they roosted in a different side of the tree than they ever have before (that I have noticed anyway). We have observed roosts for quite a few years in our yard, in several different trees, but they have always been on the north to north west side of the trees. This roost was located on the East to south East side of the tree.
