Both the male, ruby-throated, and female hummingbirds at the feeder before sunrise - 5:35Am, and all throughout the day on flowers and at feeding station, until I last had opportunity to see them at 4PM. Will look for them, again, around 7PM.
I placed a new feeder in a different location, as dozens of white faced hornets have taken over the feeders.
Both the male and female hummingbirds hovered, together, at 11:45AM, looking at me through the living room window. Flew to same branch in small mountain ash tree, on lawn, and both left the branch at same time when I came off the porch talking to them.
My "hummers" always hover when arriving each year, and leaving, as if to say "thank you, and goodbye."
I will watch for them tomorrow - Friday, August 24, 2018, and continue to report.
