A friend and I went walking at the Overland Park Arboretum in eastern Kansas watching for birds and butterflies on Wednesday, August 22. We saw 18 Monarchs nectaring and slowly flying around the grounds of the park. It did not appear any of these were the larger Super Monarchs or fourth generation Monarchs that will migrate to Mexico. They were beautiful and numerous, however.
